Couch .2 (Experience) – Gratitude (Print)
-The Spider weaves together its home, as do I. We gather our intricate beauty and dwell in our creations. Think not of the outcome of the work, like the Spider, think only of how the creation may serve you. – (Inspiration)
In the artists bedroom, the spider climbs to find a simple nook in a windowsill, ruling it a sufficient space to dwell, the spider begins to weave. Slowly, corner by corner, the space looks more like a home to the little spider.
“Breathe, it’s enough.” The artist whispers alone to herself, waking up from a state of perpetual misery; remembering what it is to take pleasure in subtle moments, to sit in the quiet calmness of each morning, cup of coffee/tea in hand, holding the moment of silence around her, just like that cup, before the day begins.
The spider regarded the woman, acknowledging the peace she has cultivated. Each morning, she reminds herself that intentional effort is needed to mentally slow down. There are moments of decision that are needed to calm her breath, her mind, her fears and simply exist within space and breathe it in. She learned to hold moments of calm quiet around her like a physical object.
